It’s official – Wonderland are the best wedding band in Scotland!
We can’t believe it but it’s true. We were so honoured to be nominated for the Music & Entertainment Award and to be the overall winner is just too much!
My wife Catherine and I headed down to the Glasgow Hilton on Monday night for the Awards ceremony. We knew we were in for a great night having spoken to a few other wedding suppliers that had attended in previous years – great food, fantastic entertainment and great banter. Over 500 professional wedding suppliers from all over Scotland – you can imagine the shenaningans!
Thank you so much to all of our lovely brides and grooms for voting for us. That’s the thing about the VOWS – they only allow one vote per wedding from a member of the bridal party, and the date and parish of each wedding is taken and authenticated. So, the voting system can’t be rigged and we know they come from our genuinely happy customers.
By the way, VOWS stands for Voted Outstanding Wedding Supplier.

One thing that was brought to my attention last night that we should perhaps mention to all brides well in advance about the first dance. This is how we do it: We will introduce the new Mr & Mrs … on to the dance floor and start playing their choice of first song. After about a minute or so i will then invite the rest of the bridal party to join them and then after another minute – the rest of the guests will be invited also. This always comes a great relief to the grooms, they usually have a slight feeling of dread being left on the dance floor alone for so long!
Today’s wedding fair at the Craigmonie Hotel, Inverness was another very worthwhile event. Many thanks to new manager Neil for organising it. Plenty of enquiries which will hopefully turn into bookings.
This time tomorrow we will know the results of the VOWS Awards – we’re off to Glasgow in the morning for the Awards’ Ceremony at the Hilton.
